Program Manager - Raising Men Mowing and Mentoring 

Responsibilities 

  • Key leader for Raising Men Mowing and Mentoring program. Learn more here: https://www.studentstartup.org/help

  • Coordinating volunteers to give rides to help teens mow free lawns for the elderly. 

  • Coordinating short Bible lessons on what it means to be a mature adult like Jesus.  

  • Oversee leadership development program for college-age student business owners who mentor younger students. 

  • Coordinating with multiple church sites as the program expands. 

  • Work with Student Startup’s office manager to ensure elderly folks we serve get a first-class experience (communication, quality, timeliness). 

  • Teach the basics of business to students so they are ready to own a business once they complete the 50 yard challenge. 

  • Coaching, feedback, and accountability for students.

  • Partnering with parents and local churches to help students develop. 

  • Model biblical character and Student Startup’s core values of being Humble, Hungry, and People Smart. 

  • Coordinate volunteer donations of equipment and equipment repair. A small amount of equipment maintenance may be required as well. 

  • Assist with StudentMowing.org varsity-level business owner program. 

Expectations 

  • Personal Growth

    • Exemplify the Student Startup Culture: Humble, Hungry, People Smart 

    • Read 1 book (minimum) per month from the Student Startup library. 

    • Model faithful service to your local church. Submit to the spiritual authority of your pastors/elders.  

  • Produce Spiritual Profit

    • Help students see how the Gospel of Jesus Christ affects all of life (including our work, rest, careers, relationships, etc).   

  • Produce Societal Profit

    • Effectively recruit high character students from low-income communities, representing the demographics of Wichita. 

    • Help students develop the entrepreneurial mindset and break through barriers to success.  

    • Work with Student Startup mentors to guide students through their personal development curriculum (audio books, podcasts, music). 

  • Produce Economic Profit

    • Serve customers well in ways they value 

    • Steward resources well (time, gas, supplies, equipment,etc). 

Compensation/Hours: We expect starting pay to be near $15 per hour with opportunities for advancement based on performance. This position requires 10-20 hours per week and could be extended to full-time during the summer.
